Skincare happens to be one of my favorite topics to talk about. Honestly, If I had the time I could go on and on about the benefits of indulging in them. Skincare plays a huge role in our lives, as it should in everyone’s but as bloggers we are privileged to test and try products from a huge variety of brands and when we do come across something that works – that surely takes a place as a blog post on the blog. Lets start off with what an essence exactly is.

What is an essence?

 An essence is a heart of Korean skin-care routines. They are highly concentrated formulas that specifically target wrinkles, fine lines, and dull and uneven skin tones. Not to be confused with serums, which are thicker in consistency and texture, essences are lightweight, watery, fast acting, and quick absorbing. Essences are meant to hydrate and brighten the skin, which means most work to optimize your skin’s natural cell turnover rate and contain skin-brightening (not bleaching) ingredients.

What the brand has to say about the essence

How and when to apply:

 It should be applied directly after cleansing and toning the skin. You can either use your hands or soak a cotton pad and apply this. However, I highly recommend using your hands as oppose to the cotton pad, as you would not want to lose or waste even little of the product. Don’t rub or massage it into your skin. The key here is to lightly pat the essence to minimize friction and help aid absorption into the skin.

What we think about the essence:

Upon opening the bottle you can immediately smell the vine and grapes, which are the key ingredients of the entire Vinoperfect range by Caudalie.

The application of this product is fairly simple, as mentioned you are supposed to gently pat the product on to your skin after cleansing and toning. I’ve included this extra step in my night time skincare routine for about 2 weeks now.

The difference I immediately notice upon application is, how amazing this product prepares your skin for the next product to seep in. Usually when you cleanse and tone your skin, it is fairly dry. Once you start adding the essence your skin is ready to seep in the benefits of your next product which is the serum. I also noticed bright and glowy skin upon waking up. My skin felt more fresh and less stressed. The essence also aided in reduction of my stubborn acne scars. What I also like about this essence is how highly concentrated it is with ingredients good for your skin. Hence more able penetrate deeper into your skin and showing you results rather sooner. Since it is water based it is suitable for any skin type so that is amazing as well.

Cons:

The only negative I found here is the application. While applying since it is a water based concentrate you need to be careful while patting it on your skin since it can slip through your hands easily.

Final Verdict

 I cannot recommend this product enough guys. I really wish I found about this product sooner as it has taken my skincare regimen to another level. I feel my skin is more supple, soft and well taken care of. I can see results and I love it! It is a 150 ML bottle full of amazing ingredients for your skin and a little goes a long way so for me it is a must to invest on a product like this.

 Perfect companion

 Applying the Vinoperfect Brightening serum from the same range after the essence is a match made in heaven. I discovered the serum long before I discovered the essence. So using both of these for my skincare routine in the night is my favorite of all my skincare routines.
