We recently visited the Jose Eber Laloge located surrounded by the plush greens at Emirates Hills. Laloge opened its doors for ladies and chaps at Address Montgomerie Hotel Emirates Hills about 2 years back when owners Reem Abu Samra and Lubana Sakkal promised to bring their touch of Hollywood glamour to Dubai.
And rightly so, they fulfil every bit of their promise. Upon entry the salon’s heavy on the opulence, with its beautiful gold mosaic tiles and magnificent crystal chandeliers, looking nothing short of a beautiful French boudoir.
Not only do their interiors match up to the standards of luxury but they have extravagant treatments on offer the makes them a class apart. These treatments include gold facials, caviar hair masks and luxury spa mani-pedis and various hair-care treatments. As tempting as these sounded we decided to try their Brazilian blowout treatment.
Being a blogger, it has always been a task for to maintain our hair. It’s almost mandatory to get it styled/blow-dried for shoots or for events and I always find myself sitting in that chair wondering if I’m damaging my hair all the more one blow-dry at a time. I’ve been hearing and reading about the Brazilian blowout keratin treatment for years now and I couldn’t help but get into the details and do my research to find out more about this treatment. One of the biggest pros of this treatment is that it cuts down your styling time to literally a few minutes. You don’t need hours to style your hair, which sounded incredibly amazing to me!
So like every other girl, I always wanted to try this but I would end up taking a step back because I really liked my loose curls. I personally have loose wavy curls, which look gorgeous air-dried and I loved the volume and texture of my hair naturally. The problem was how the heat and humid climate in Dubai made them look, so as soon as I would get out, it would be frizzy and not manageable. at all. Maintaining curls especially during the summer days is a task by itself! I sometimes had to add more curls, and spray it to lock in all the texture and volume. It was a tedious task!
Having flat pin straight hair has always been my worst nightmare; I couldn’t stand the thought of it. Even when I styled my hair I would never go for a completely straight hair look. I would either have them blow-dried or try adding more curls to it to make it curlier. Hence after always being skeptical about the treatment and contemplating for months I finally thought of giving it a shot. What truly convinced me was when I read about how it never truly flattens you hair. It just tames your hair to make it easy for you to style your hair.
What is Brazilian blowout?
The product used for this treatment gets its protein from a blend of amino acids and the results are incredible. Before the product is applied the hair is shampooed and carefully dried until only a small amount of moisture remains. Once we apply the product the hair is blow-dried and flat-ironed. When the hair is completely dry we shampoo the hair and completely rinse out the product. Next we apply conditioner, rinse it out, and dry the hair one last time.
Who is this treatment for?
This treatment is great for anyone with dry or processed hair and anyone whose hair is naturally frizzy. The treatment can be performed on any type of hair to create a smoother, more manageable look. This treatment doesn’t flatten hair or remove any of the natural body and it will still be able to hold a style, for those who feel like waves one day, and straight hair the next.
What are the benefits of doing this?
The biggest benefit is that hair will be far easier to maintain without hours of straightening and product use.
For those with naturally curly hair, the treatment will remove frizz and make curls more manageable and healthier. Hair will also be far easier to blow straight for a change of pace. For those with a slight wave or frizz, this treatment will make hair appear naturally straight and glossy (my hair type)
Cost?
The cost for Brazilian Blowout of Hair my length was 2000 Dhs. The cost for the treatment is mostly customised to your hair length and volume.
How long does it last?
Hair experts claim the treatment lasts from anywhere between 3-4 months but it can last longer depending on your hair and also how well you maintain it by using the right products following the treatment.
The verdit?
During the procedure, when the stylist applies the Brazilian blowout mixture on your hair the chemical is quite intense. It’s the kind that makes it difficult to breath. As to what I have read online, when applying the chemical you need to make sure either you are somewhere outside (example a salon terrace) or the salon should be properly ventilated. In my case, we did not have a terrace or an outdoor area. The chemicals did make my eyes teary. Even though I was provided with a mask, the chemical was too strong, and surpassed the mask as well. That’s the only downside when applying this treatment.
It has now been a week since I got this treatment done. I have washed my hair once after this treatment and the results are incredible! I let my hair down and let it air-dry and the results were smooth, silky- velvety straight hair, almost look like they have been blow-dried! I am really pleased with the results.
Would I recommend the Brazilian Blowout to friends? I already have! This is really perfect for anyone who wants to save time to style their or lives in Dubai 😛 I mean the heat always gets to you, the hair can literally go from good to frizzy in seconds. The treatment is definitely on the pricier side but it definitely saves you all the money, time and energy you would spend otherwise styling your hair from a salon. The maintenance also requires you to use specialized Brazilian blowout keratin shampoo and conditioner as it helps the treatment to last longer and maintain it.
