As quoted by Eyebrow queen Anastasia herself, ‘Nothing frames the face more beautifully than perfectly shaped brows’. That being said, we recently upgraded our brow routine and got hold of the Anastasia Dip brow as well as the Clear brow gel and it has been an absolute game changer for us!

Eyebrows have definitely come a long way in the world of makeup; a full, defined brow is more in demand than ever. Haven’t we been through it all by now? The McDonald’s brows, the instagram brows, the boxy brows, the inverted brows and the list goes on. 

To be honest, I hadn’t realised the importance of brow products until recently. Perfectly groomed brows frame the face, and if done correctly, can act as an instant eye-lift. We’re not too fond of the classic instagram brow: that is slightly ombré at the beginning, super arched and elongated, heavily filled in and seemingly painted on throughout the remainder of the brow.

We prefer our brows as natural looking as possible on a daily basis and probably going slightly on the heavier side when the occasion calls for it.

Anastasia Dipbrow pomade

Now this is gotta be one product that every makeup artist recommends and is all over Youtube and Instagram. Following the hype, this was the one product I picked out from the array of brow products in the collection. I was a little skeptical about what color I should be going for. It was a tough call between the shades ‘Ebony’ and ‘Dark brown’. I decided to go for Dark Brown eventually since it seemed more natural, yet buildable.

Packaging: The packaging is very similar to that of most gel-cream based products. A glass jar with a black screw cap. The packaging is quite sturdy yet not too bulky. The copper-gold accents on the black lid makes it extremely aesthetically pleasing. It’s definitely one of the products that make my vanity look very fancy and luxurious. The jar contains 4.0 gms/0.14 Oz, which is a whole lot considering how little of this product you need on a daily basis. Priced at AED 103. 

Formula and Application: The product’s texture is very similar to that of a gel liner but way smoother. The product glides on like soft butter. I couldn’t believe how smoothly it applied it literally takes no effort to pick it up with a brush and get it on to your brows. However, the application of the product does have a learning curve. The product is extremely pigmented and getting carried away with a product as pigmented as this is fairly easy. The product is built for brows that stand out but  with the right choice of colour and application you can tailor it to your needs. Initially, I’d only reach out for the pomade when I was going for a heavy makeup look. However, I realised recently with smaller strokes and bit of precision, you can get away with using this on an everyday basis without making it look too strong.

Longevity: On application, the product takes a couple of minutes to set in, so there’s enough time for blending and rectifying any errors in the process. But once its completely dry and set, it will stay put for the entire day just as you applied it initially. There’s not a sign of even the slightest bit of fading which is super impressive!

Anastasia Clear Brow Gel

This isn’t a necessary step but does make that extra difference to your brows making it look more in place for a polished look. I prefer it to be invisible since I like to use it on my no make up days to keep my brow hair in place. The product is essentially an invisible brush-on gel for all hair colors that sets, defines, and holds brows in place. It is an amazing product to keep your unruly brows in check. Easy to apply, you literally swipe this through your brows and you are good to go in a few seconds. The soothing chamomile formula also conditions hair and offers a lustrous, natural look.
