Skincare has been a huge part of our beauty regime and we are always on a constant look out for beauty products that not only become a part of our daily routine, but also stay for their added benefits to our skin. One such product that we can’t stop raving about lately is the Herbal Essentials Grape seed and Shea butter radiant AHA Cream.
Night creams have got to be our favorite part of our beauty regime. I love it when you have your time with your skin in the night and allow the beauty products to sink into the skin and work their magic!
What is AHA?
AHA is a short version of Alpha Hydroxy Acids. Now that may sound scary WHAT? Acid on the face? Yes, it’s acid – but it’s nothing to be frightened of.
Alpha hydroxy acids are a group of natural acids found in foods. Alpha hydroxy acids include citric acid (found in citrus fruits), glycolic acid (found in sugar cane), lactic acid (found in sour milk), malic acid (found in apples), tartaric acid (found in grapes), and others.
Below are the benefits of AHA and the wonders it can do for your skin:
Removes dead skin cells: Alpha Hydroxy Acid for skin works as an exfoliating agent and removes dead cells from your skin and helps you get rid of the dark cells from the top layers of your skin.
Helps penetrate all the other skincare products better: The exterior layers of dull and dead skin cells hamper the ability of your skin to absorb the important components like serums and creams. AHAs detach these layers to uncover the primary cells, helping your skin assimilate the goodness of your beauty regimen better.
Reduces wrinkles: According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, Alpha Hydroxy Acids help to minimize the appearance of wrinkles in a shorter period of time. You can find AHAs in different beauty products like sunscreen products, anti-aging products and acne creams, shampoos etc.
Prevents skin damage: AHAs help to heal the damaged skin surface and help the growth of new cells. AHAs also help to increase the production of collagen in your body, preventing skin damage.
Increases blood flow: According to the Harvard Medical School, using AHAs increase the blood flow to your skin and help you to get rid of wrinkles and crumples. The result—natural and bright skin tone!
What does the cream claim to do?
Our Night Formula contains Shea Butter, which is widely recognized for its deep nourishing and moisturizing properties. This delicate cream is blended with Fruit Acids, to gently aid exfoliation of dead skin cells to reveal youthful looking skin.
Does it stay true to its claims?
Hell yes! We have been testing out this product for over 2 weeks now and can see such a huge difference in our skin. The skin is much brighter i.e. the dead skin cells have been shedding out. The formula is a bit heavy on the skin and a little goes a long way! If you are starting out, don’t forget to do a skin patch test 24 hours prior on your hand. Its best to always test out such products before applying them on your face.
Is it worth the price?
It is definitely towards a more pricey side but for skincare we always think it is more like an investment. If the product works well for your skin and helps you achieve what you want then it’s definitely worth the price! Little goes a long way, so one jar can last you for more than 6 months!
We see a huge difference in our skin after using this; it is visibly more clear, acne free and smooth! Which definitely aids in our makeup application process as well. Can easily add this product to our list of favorite products for nighttime routine. If you have tried products with AHA before, do let us know what you think about them J
